T.S. Elliot talks about "Jellical cats" who have a name that only they know. That may have been floating in the back of my head when I had this little snippet came to me.
The Holy has written a name on your heart.
It is a name uniquely yours:
no one else has ever had it, no one else ever will.
It is the name that rocks you to sleep at night
and calms your beating heart in the face of fearsome giants
whose shadows loom long in the sun-brightened day.
It is the name that invites you, encourages you, coaxes you to press on.
It is the name that allows you to rest in contentment, in peace, in joy.
Ineffable, unknowable to anyone but you and God,
it is the name that is given in the language of God and the angels,
the language of love, of life, of soul-rooted laughter and delight.
Your task on earth is to discover your name
and to live so that all who see you or meet you or know of you
may recognize your name though they may speak it not.
